48Blocks is doing something really cool in Atlantic City, NJ the first weekend of summer. Art will be happening all over on June 22-24.
Check it out… I think they’re still looking for artists, hosts, volunteers, and sponsors.
Happy astrological new year! It’s the first day of spring. Too bad the weather here in New Jersey didn’t get the memo.
I made a new shirt, “Intuition is my Superpower.” It’s in my Lucky Star Dreams Etsy shop and it’s not just a shirt, its the beginning of my campaign to bring awareness and social validity to intuition. I feel like we miss a lot of life’s little subtleties in the noise of our culture. We tend not to slow down and listen to that energy… and when we do hear it, it blends with the media and entertainment we’re completely immersed in. The whispers are so easily drowned out by noise and the pace in which we move. Continue reading “Intuition is my superpower”
First Impression 5,

Nude female figure model
In 2003, I started painting nude women onto the surface of stretched and prepared clothing as though it were canvas.
In revisiting the series, I’m bringing in some intimate and emotional elements and plan to continue these.
See the paintings in the gallery below.
Completed in March of 2018, this personal painting is the first of some of my new work exploring relationships.
Figures on Clothes was my first series of paintings starting c. 2003. To me, they began with the relationship between clothing and nudity using the human form explored between subject matter and material. I painted these nude female figures directly onto the surface of stretched and prepared clothing as I would on primed canvas.

Oil on canvas,
The idea behind First Impressions has been on my mind quite a bit lately. It’s fascinating to me how much people are able to instinctively fill in about others upon a relatively brief meeting. Logically and verbally, only so many questions can be answered but much intuitive information still resides in sense and energy.
I do a fair amount of drawing from life. The figure drawing parallel occurred to me – croquis are these fast drawings that capture gesture, shape, position, and weight in seconds. They often contain enough information to fill in the blanks to translate quick lines into solid human forms with energy and emotion.
That’s exactly how first impressions work… we flesh out quick skeletal scribbles into emotionally concentrated human forms with very little to go on.

Scraping dried paint from my palette , I noticed how beautiful the colors were. As someone who makes constellation jewelry to pass time while art ideas develop, it occurred to me to make one of a kind pieces of abstract jewelry from my repurposed palette paint.
These miniature mixed media abstract paintings sort of resemble pressed flowers. What do you think? Do you know someone who’d dig them? http://bit.ly/paintjewelry
After some experimenting [and photography, math problems, planning, investing, writing, marketing, and research too], I have a few finished pieces listed in my @artseejodee Etsy shop. Acknowledging these pieces of jewelry aren’t fine art, I still keep them in the same gallery shop as my paintings because they’re made of my paintings.

I’m exploring relationships through human form, body language, and connection.
Connection is my most recent body of work painting dancers. Started in 2016, it’s a series of oil paintings, watercolor paintings, drawings, and ink drawings exploring human connection with body language, touch, and gesture; communicating and connecting without words through improvisational lead and follow social dancers. As a dancer and former media employee, this body of work is a reflection of communication in contrast to verbal or written language with undertones of honesty, transparency, and authenticity.
