In June, I did an art project in Atlantic City and asked a number of people for help.
The idea was to visually capture an element of connection through lead and follow social dancing in paint to create a residual piece of art because dance is so temporary, like an installation. Dance is an installation that only exists in a moment, and the only way to experience it a subsequent time is through memory or another form of art. SwingSwagShop.com is a shop where I display and sell my dance inspired designs on clothes. I have fun with the shop… and it keeps my graphic design and marketing skills from getting too rusty as I freelance through this #artlife.
West coast swing dancers captured residual art from elements of connection and movement through improvisational lead/follow connection, common ground on June 23, 2018 during 48 Blocks.
This news caught me by surprise this afternoon. It feels really good to know someone connected with this piece. Thank you so much, Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts.

I’m exploring relationships through human form, body language, and connection. Connection is my most recent body of work painting dancers. Started in 2016, it’s a series of oil paintings, watercolor paintings, drawings, and ink drawings exploring human connection with body language, touch, and gesture; communicating and connecting without words through improvisational lead and follow social dancers. As a dancer and former media employee, this body of work is a reflection of communication in contrast to verbal or written language with undertones of honesty, transparency, and authenticity.
