That feeling when a random youtube video about psychic abilities connects a Buddhist teaching to your current series of work
Mid-video over coffee, I debated whether or not I should share this one here. Russell Targ has some fascinating stories but how relevant it is to my art? Plus it’s long. How closely should I keep blog things focused?
The Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts does this event every year called Artful Giving. It’s this cash and carry gift shop style exhibit of handmade goods by local artists and artisans. Running November 17 through December 30, 2018, there will be everything from pottery to jewelry, textiles, glass, and traditional art.
I have a few pieces of sterling jewelry in this show, which I’m pretty excited about.
Support the arts. Buy handmade stuff. Shop local.

Honestly, I’d rather be painting but there are service people in my workspace. Staying productive, I’m working on some projects that require a different type of attention and can be started and stopped more easily.
A couple weeks ago, water came out of the light fixtures and vents in the ceiling. The air conditioning drain backed up — what a mess. Since then, workers have been here every day ripping carpet, cutting out walls, and all sorts of other demolition and construction. Oh, and don’t forget the industrial fans, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers… yeah, apparently they’re a thing. Those loud little beasts are running everywhere around the clock. They take white noise to a whole new level.
Ok, enough about that, let’s talk about some jewelry I made and just got listed in my etsy shop, www.luckystardreams.com 🙂
Inspired by the full moon, complete with shore vibes. These earrings were born from a combination of nostalgia and the night sky at the Jersey shore in the summertime.
The hand picked saltwater tumbled quartz stones in these earrings remind me of my grandparents. As a kid, sometimes my they’d watch me while my mom was at work. Since I was a kid before technology, they’d keep me occupied by sending me outside to look for cool stones in the driveway… true story.
If you follow this blog, you may know I make constellation jewelry . One day I was making constellation necklaces and the creative process took over. I started experimenting next thing I knew, I had made a pair of these. The process took tweaking but with trial and error, they’ve turned into a pretty cool and unique piece of jewelry.
I wear them all the time and the number of compliments I get wearing them is wild.
Swing Swag’s ever popular Shimmy Shimmy racerback tank and baby bodysuit is now available for the guys (and girls) in a super-soft cotton tee too. Get em here >> https://etsy.me/2LnTlvT
SwingSwagShop.com is a shop where I display and sell my dance inspired designs on clothes. I have fun with the shop… and it keeps my graphic design and marketing skills from getting too rusty as I freelance through this #artlife.
Happy astrological new year! It’s the first day of spring. Too bad the weather here in New Jersey didn’t get the memo.
I made a new shirt, “Intuition is my Superpower.” It’s in my Lucky Star Dreams Etsy shop and it’s not just a shirt, its the beginning of my campaign to bring awareness and social validity to intuition. I feel like we miss a lot of life’s little subtleties in the noise of our culture. We tend not to slow down and listen to that energy… and when we do hear it, it blends with the media and entertainment we’re completely immersed in. The whispers are so easily drowned out by noise and the pace in which we move. Continue reading “Intuition is my superpower”
Scraping dried paint from my palette , I noticed how beautiful the colors were. As someone who makes constellation jewelry to pass time while art ideas develop, it occurred to me to make one of a kind pieces of abstract jewelry from my repurposed palette paint.
These miniature mixed media abstract paintings sort of resemble pressed flowers. What do you think? Do you know someone who’d dig them? http://bit.ly/paintjewelry
After some experimenting [and photography, math problems, planning, investing, writing, marketing, and research too], I have a few finished pieces listed in my @artseejodee Etsy shop. Acknowledging these pieces of jewelry aren’t fine art, I still keep them in the same gallery shop as my paintings because they’re made of my paintings.
I’m exploring relationships through human form, body language, and connection. Connection is my most recent body of work painting dancers. Started in 2016, it’s a series of oil paintings, watercolor paintings, drawings, and ink drawings exploring human connection with body language, touch, and gesture; communicating and connecting without words through improvisational lead and follow social dancers. As a dancer and former media employee, this body of work is a reflection of communication in contrast to verbal or written language with undertones of honesty, transparency, and authenticity.
