Dance and music friends, 48 Blocks Atlantic City still has openings for performance art opportunities the weekend of June 22-24 (that’s the weekend before Liberty, wcs friends).
I wanted to pass that along because I know many of you guys are on dance teams, have performance groups, and are in bands.
For this event I’m doing an art – dance connection mashup project. It’s one I’ve been thinking up for some time. I’m pretty excited about it so please come see… and reach out if you want in. You’re going to find this hard to believe but it’s going to be messy and lead-follow partner dance-y and fun, of course. Time, location, details coming.
Check out what they have planned. I’ve been to some planning meetings and this is a group of wonderfully creative people.
I think there are still sponsorship opportunities available too.
Another life drawing session is probably coming up next week ON!
Details via Meed:
Our next drawing session is scheduled for Thursday, 2/8. Our model will be Warren. He is a great croquois model. Let’s draw him! We can all benefit, like all artists, from working on our drawing. Bring lots of paper, and your favorite fast medium!
Who’s in? RSVP deadline is Tuesday, 2/6. 5pm.
Hoping to work with you. By the way, this life drawing group is nearly 18 years old! Possibly the oldest continually-operating life drawing group in South Jersey! Congrats to all who have kept it going!
Tonight’s life drawing group meeting at the Ocean City Arts Center is on.
Happy 2018 to all!
Are you ready for a great painting night? We will reinstate the plan we had to cancel for December. Short-Haired Anne will be our model. She will be nude, but using props, and a theme of black, white and red. I am already intrigued. Anne is so good at making a painterly spectacle that we can be sure of a productive evening. So bring your paints and a good canvas to kick off the 2018 season!
Added bonus: See the lovely, and often narrative, work of Grace Zambelli who is showing at OCAC in January. (You can also meet her at the reception the following evening.)
Who’s in? RSVP deadline is Tuesday, January 9, 5pm.
All details are the same: OC Arts Center, 5pm – 8:45pm, $15 per session (exact change please), All mediums welcome except photography, Oil painters must clean up and dispose of terpinoid at home. We have chairs, and some easles. Artists bring everything else, including drawing board.
Newcomer? Direct questions to me via email, or *phone number* (comment if you want her number).
Can’t wait to get back to work!
Musing: What a gorgeous, severe-clear, pristine snowfall! Years ago, I would treasure days just such as this. It meant perfect viewing conditions at the old Barnes Foundation–in the upstairs room where the drawings and watercolors were, shimmering in their understated gold frames. I really miss that.
In October, the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point, New Jersey further expanded their support of the arts to include featuring the work of a new local visual artist each month. The artwork can be viewed prior to the shows and during intermission and is available for purchase.
I had the opportunity to be the first artist to show my artwork at the Gateway Playhouse. My connection paintings displayed through the month of October 2017. It’s really exciting to experience the overlap of artists supporting artists. Continue reading “Gateway Playhouse Show”
I’m kind of really excited to be doing the Stone Harbor Arts & Crafts Festival for the first time this weekend. Come look, bring friends and a coffee for me (just cream;) ), save me a dance, or just say hi.
