Stewing on an idea about paint, what it does, and its representations, I began a new series of abstract work earlier this year. Paint Forms. I made a number of relatively small mixed media pieces of abstract work on wood. I’ve been building the transformative series in unison with Armageddon. Life poetry.
New mixed media work where paint materials are assembled in collage as three dimensional elements atop colored ground to draw relationship between process, presence, and transformation. Some are built on mono-prints from paper targets.
Figures on Clothes was one of my first series of paintings around 2003. I painted them with relationship ideas between clothing and the human form explored between subject matter and material. I painted nude female figures directly onto the surface of stretched and prepared clothing as I would on primed canvas.
In 2003, I started painting nude women onto the surface of stretched and prepared clothing as though it were canvas.
In revisiting the series, I’m bringing in some intimate and emotional elements. I plan to continue these.
