OCEAN CITY – I’m just passing along some information about the longtime running Ocean City life drawing group formerly run by Meed Barnett, originally founded by Jim Penland at the Ocean City Fine Arts League.
Thursday, September 13, 2018
5 to 8:45 PM
Ocean City Arts Center
17th & Simpson Ave., Ocean City, NJ 08226
$15, RSVP to confirm
As most of you probably know by now, our member and fellow artist Meed Barnett and her husband Bob are moving to Canada. Meed passed on the reins for Drawing Night to Mary Ann Kline and Doreen Khebzou. The format will remain the same. Drawing night will be held the second Thursday of each month, at the Ocean City Art Center at 17th and Simpson from 5 to 8:45 PM. There will be a live model present. The fee is $15 and we request that you bring exact change. All mediums are welcome, however please use a low odor solvent if you are oil painting. If using pastels, all spraying must be done outside of the building. There are easels at the Art Center that we may use, however you’re more than welcome to bring your own. All cleaning of brushes, etc must be done at home. You may, of course, wash your hands!
It’s important that you RSVP for this event since we pay the model that night and want to make sure that we have enough money on hand.
This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your drawing skills. The models Meed used will be returning and some others will be added. There will be warm up short poses (croquis) and either 20 minute poses or a long pose for painting. The model for the first session will be short haired Ann. This will be held on September 13th.
Please RSVP to Mary Ann Kline [I removed this part but ask & I’ll pass it on]
Hope to see you there!
